The degree in Journalism of the Faculty of Communication of the Francisco de Vitoria University, from its commitment to society and truth, organises the I International Journalism Congress UFV, which was created with the intention of reflecting on the present and future of journalism and the profession and with the ultimate goal of collaborating in the transformation of society and its growth.

More than 25 years ago, the journalism degree began its journey with the mission of training future journalists with a comprehensive training adapted to new technologies and the changing environment in which we live. We are currently living in a time when the media and journalists are being questioned and the emergence of social networks has popularised the journalistic profession. It is therefore time for a pause and a deep reflection to clarify the current and future panorama of journalism.

The Congress will be attended by great working professionals and academics from the world of journalism, both nationally and internationally.

With regard to the national scene, the roundtables that will take place during the Congress will be attended by the leading communicators of our country.

The Congress will also be a perfect opportunity to exchange information between teachers, researchers, students and communication professionals, both nationally and internationally.

The objectives of the congress are:

To analyse business models in journalism nowadays.
To reflect on the various contributions that can be made to journalism from an academic perspective.
To explore the relation between technology and the journalist’s mission.
To delve into the influence of journalism on society.
